Great apps can be entertaining, informative or help us work smarter.  This time we take a look at five apps that can get you and your team to be more productive, both in and out of the office. Technology can be a productivity drain, but used wisely, it can actually increase productivity.  There are thousands of different productivity apps available today, with more added each day.  This week we will take a look at five apps that can help increase productivity.

Thanks,

Gary

LivePlan [INSERT link www.liveplan.com] – A strong business plan is the key to success, regardless of the business size.  The best plans are either stuck in your head or written on scrap paper.  Some businesses are running without a plan at all.  New and established businesses can benefit from this app.  LivePlan is a complete business solution.  There are templates and examples for those crafting their first plan.  The marketing tool will help create a one-page pitch.  Keep track of financials easily with Quickbooks integration.  There is a charge for this app, $140 per year or $19.95 per month and the software is available for PC, Mac and as a smartphone app.

Dropbox [INSERT link www.dropbox.com] – Having access to documents on the go is easy with Dropbox.  This cloud storage provider has a generous free program that allows storage of documents and photos.  Files can be shared with team members.  The app allows access from smartphones and tablets.

Asana [INSERT link www.asana.com] – For many, delegation causes more stress than doing the task themselves.  Following up with team members and tracking project management is easy with Asana.  This program is a complete project management tool.  Tasks can be delegated with specific deadlines.  Brainstorming and goals can be entered and shared.  Updates are kept in the system, so your email is not cluttered.  There is even applicant tracking and CRM integration.  This software is not just for teams.  Personal tasks and projects can be managed.  Users can control the content that is shared with team members.  The basic service is free for up to 15 users.  There is a premium version with even more features.

CamCard [INSERT link www.intsig.com/en/camcard.html] – Business cards are still the primary means of sharing contact information at networking events and conferences.  Many times these cards are lost, forgotten or tossed in a pile.  CamCard is an that app works on iPhones, iPads, Blackberry and Android devices.  Simply open the app, take a photo of the card and CamCard takes care of the rest.  Contacts are saved to either your phone contacts or emails accounts.  This app will help keep you on your A game when networking.

LastPass [INSERT link www.lastpass.com] – With all of these great apps, you will need a password.  LastPass will save all of your passwords in one place.  There is even an enterprise option for companies.  There is an app that works on all smartphones.  This is the best solution to working smarter and safer.

Clearly, not all technology is bad for productivity.  These five apps are just the tip of the iceberg.  Finding the best app is not easy, but no matter the need, there is definitely an app for that.
